Brook Sica

I am 31 years old and I am the live-in 24 hour Caretaker for my Grandmother. She is 88 years old, with end stage Alzheimer's. Additionally she is an amputee and has 1 leg. I gave up my career in the Automotive Industry working in the business development center on social and digital marketing.



I loved the Automotive Industry, but I would not change a thing about my decision. It is the most difficult undertaking, and in the beginning it was hard uprooting my life, giving up my home and career. Though over the last 15 months, I found a new passion. I love working with the elderly! So I am currently studying Gerontology (Study of aging). I look forward to a career in the field!



I love to write, paint, draw, read and learn about anything and everything. I will read pretty much anything from fiction to non-fiction, Sci-fi to chic lit and almost all genres in between. I also love to write social commentary pieces, though rarely feel they are polished enough to share.




Learning and acquiring knowledge is extremely important to me. I take classes on any subject that interests me, and will spend months researching subjects and topics I am intrigued by. Therefore I have many passions, master of some but a student of all.



My Beloved dog Jun Jun passed away in January and I am still heartbroken and miss him everyday. I rescued him from Jersey City and he was like my child and one of the most important parts of my life.
